Industrial Pumps
Positive displacement pumps are operated by using a vacuum to draw liquid into a cavity. The inlet is then blocked by means of a valve, the high the pressure created forces the liquid out the discharge outlet. Because of the high pressure that is created, positive displacement pumps are able to move heavy fluids better than a centrifugal pump. Centrifugal pumps are less expensive and better suited for thin fluids like water that require less pressure to move.
